Have you always wanted to learn to ride a horse? Already have some experience and want compete? Competing and want to advance to the next level? No matter where you are in your riding career, Silver Lining Stables is the place for you! 

 

Silver Lining Stables offers lessons for all ages who are interested in showing or just having fun! It is a great form of exercise and exposes you to the fabulous animal Kentucky is known for, horses!  Let our skilled instructional staff educate you and your family about the wonderful world of equestrian sports while focusing on safety and creating an enjoyable learning experience.

 

All of our students begin with private lessons or an evaluation lesson if entering with previous riding experience. Depending on age and ability, beginning riders typically take between 8-10 privates lessons before they are ready to enter into a group lesson.  Every rider learns and progresses at their own speed, so our teaching program is tailored to each rider's ability level and progress. Our professional staff will make the judgement as to whey riders are ready to move into a group lesson situation.

 

Beginning riders can also benefit from Silver Lining Stables' double saddle lessons. The double saddle can create a safer and easier learning situation for some riders, as the instructor rides together with the student, bolstering confidence. This is particularly helpful for riders starting at younger ages.

LESSON BASICS

 

PRIVATE LESSONS

 

All students begin in private lessons. Private lessons are vital to success, allowing students to learn the basic skills of riding in a safe, controlled environment with one-on-one attention from our staff. Upon advancing to an appropriate level, students will move into a semi-private group with 1-2 other riders.

 

GROUP LESSONS

 

Group lessons allow intermediate and advanced riders an opportunity to employ learned skills while riding with other students of similar skill level. This helps riders learn how to better manage their horse and navigate the with "obstacles" presented by other horses and riders. Riding in a group and observing others helps riders advance to the next level and prepares them to enter the show ring.

 

LESSON RATES

 

  • $40 per 30-minute lesson
  • Package of five 30-minute lessons — $175

 

(rates are for private or group lessons)

 

New students are required to provide a credit card deposit or check to hold their lesson spot. The check or credit card deposit will be run the day of the scheduled lesson.

 

SCHEDULING

 

Lessons may be scheduled Monday through Friday, early afternoon, after school and evening.  Students should arrive at least 10 minutes prior to their lesson and ready to start on time. Late arrival will result in a shortened lesson, but riders will still be responsible for the full cost of the lesson.

 

CANCELLATION POLICY

 

If you have to cancel your lesson, we ask that you please do so at least 24 hours in advance to allow ample time to fill your spot with another rider. Lessons not cancelled at least 24 hours in advance will be charged a $25 cancellation fee, or the loss of a lesson from your package. If a rider misses more than 2 regularly scheduled lessons in a row, the rider must give up their scheduled time slot.
